This 5 day training is based on the IBM Spectrum Scale training courses H005G (IBM Spectrum Scale Basic Administration for Linux and AIX - 3 days) and H006G (IBM Spectrum Scale Advanced Administration for Linux - 3 days)
Since the H006G course is still based on the old V4.2, the content of this weekly course has been adapted to V5 of the H005G and the exercises are also based on this.

- Welcome and course overview
- Unit 1 - IBM Spectrum Scale overview
- Exercise 1 - Cluster node preparation
- Unit 2 - Installation and cluster configuration
Day 2
- Exercise 2 - Installation and cluster configuration
- Unit 3 - Cluster management
- Exercise 3 - Cluster management and configuration
Day 3
- Unit 4 - Information Lifecycle Management (ILM)
- Exercise 4 - Storage pools, filesets, and policies
- Unit 5 - High availability and cluster data backups
- Exercise 5 - Replication and snapshots
- Unit 6 – Migration Scenarios (V4 to V5, V5 Fixes)
- Unit 7 - Describe and set up GUI interface
- Exercise 7 – Setup the V5 GUI (newer than H006G)
Day 4
- Unit 8 - Describe IBM Spectrum Scale multi-cluster
- Exercise 8 – Setup remote mounts
- Unit 9 - Cluster Export Service (CES) Overview
- Exercise 9 – Install CES
- Unit 10 - Describe CES (SMB or CIFS) Protocol
- Exercise 10 – Use CES Exports for SMB shares
- Unit 11 - Describe CES Network File System (NFS)
- Exercise 11 – Use CES Exports for NFS shares
- Unit 12 – Discuss different Authorization possebilities
Day 5
- Describe AFM (home and cache features)
- List the various Active File Management (AFM) modes
- create and manage an AFM relationship
- Define and introduce asynchronous disaster recovery (DR)
- Describe the Spectrum Scale Disaster Recovery Architecture
- If time permits – go into other topics from H006G
