Overview
IBM Security® Guardium® Data Protection (Guardium) is a scalable data security platform that meets the demands of modern environments. It provides a broad range of data security and protection capabilities that can protect sensitive and regulated data across environments and platforms. This course provides the processes, procedures, and practices necessary to configure Guardium to monitor and protect sensitive data. Hands-on exercises reinforce the skills learned.
This course is a subset of the 3-day course IBM Security Guardium Data Protection Foundations (8G102G). Administrators who need in-depth Guardium training should enroll in that course, which is instructor-led.
Note: This course is based on version 12.0 of IBM Security Guardium Data Protection.
Audience
This course is designed for database administrators, security administrators, and security analysts who monitor IBM Security Guardium data.
Prerequisites
Before taking this course, students should have a general knowledge of the Guardium Data Protection user interface and working knowledge of UNIX® commands.
Objective
- Describe how to apply rule order, logic, and actions to Guardium policies
- Configure policy rules that process the information that is gathered from database and file servers
- Create Guardium queries and reports to examine trends and gather data
- Use Guardium alerts to monitor a data environment
