Audience profile

  • This course is designed for Microsoft 365 administrators who want to learn how to administer Copilot for their organization.
  • This course is not intended for beginners who have no prior experience with Microsoft 365 or Copilot
  • Administrators who have finished the MS-102 Course titled "Microsoft 365 Administrator" may find the afternoon session on data management and compliance beneficial as a review.


Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and features
  • Previous Copilot experience both as user or administrator is NOT a requirement
  • There won’t be labs in this 1-day course, so no licenses or resources will be provided or needed


Contents

This course begins by examining the Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 design. Its main focus, however, is on the security and compliance features that administrators must configure in their Microsoft 365 tenant to protect their company's organizational data before they implement Copilot.


The first part of the course (half a day) will cover the following topics

  • Overview of Copilot features and benefits for Microsoft 365 users
  • Copilot for Microsoft 365 architecture, design and components
    • Microsoft Search
    • Semantic Index
    • Microsoft Graph
  • How to configure Copilot settings and preferences for your organization such as:
    • Restricted SharePoint Search
    • Site Level access restrictions
  • How to monitor and manage Copilot usage
  • How to provide feedback and suggestions to improve Copilot

In the second part of the course, during the afternoon, Microsoft Purview data management solutions will be covered:

  • Information Protection
  • Data Loss Prevention
  • Retention policies
